DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -Darion Anderson scored 32 points and Sean Kowal had a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead Northern Illinois to a 93-81 victory over Chicago State on Saturday.
Northern Illinois (4-5) also earned double-digit performances from Mike Dinunno with 14 points and Najul Ervin with ten points. The Huskies had 27 assists for the game, compared with 11 for the Cougars.
The score was tied 41-41 going into halftime, but the Huskies came back from the break to outscore the Cougars 52-40 in the second period.
David Holston led Chicago State (3-4) with 32 points, including five 3-pointers. Carl Montgomery had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Cougars and Mike Wilson added 12 points.
The Cougars were strong from behind the arc, scoring nine 3-pointers to five Huskie 3-pointers. The Huskies shot 61 percent from the field.
