POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -Senior guard Matt Stucki scored 20 points and had nine rebounds and nine assists as Idaho State beat Utah for the first time in 50 years, 72-68, on Saturday night.
Clutch free-throw shooting down the stretch helped Idaho State (2-5) preserve its first win over the Utes (5-2) since the 1958-59 season.
With Idaho State leading 66-65 and 33 seconds remaining, Amorrow Morgan hit five of seven free-throw attempts and Stucki hit one of two to seal the win.
Utah was led by 7-2 center Luke Nevill with 22 points. Shaun Green added 14 and Carlon Brown had 11 for the Utes.
Idaho State led 45-34 at halftime, led by 16 points from Stucki, who hit six of nine shots in the first 20 minutes. Idaho State shot 64 percent from the field in that half and had leads as high as 15 points.
Morgan finished with 14 points and Idaho State forward Demetrius Monroe had 11 points and seven rebounds.
