HOUSTON (AP) -Jaroslav Tyrna's layup with 1.9 seconds remaining broke a tie and New Orleans went on to beat winless Houston Baptist 77-73 on Saturday night.
With the score tied at 73, Tyrna hit the shot and was fouled by Gordon Watt. Demetrius Judge of Houston Baptist was whistled for a technical foul.
T.J. Worley, who led the Privateers (3-5) with 24 points, hit one of two free throws on the technical, and Tyrna made his foul shot for the final margin.
Houston Baptist's Baron Sauls tied the score on a jumper with 8 seconds left. He finished with 14 points, and Watt led the Huskies (0-9) with 20 points and eight rebounds.
