PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -Mike Rosario scored 18 points and Rutgers never trailed in scoring an easy 67-37 win over Bryant on Saturday.
Gregory Echenique added 11 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots for the Scarlet Knights (8-3), who won their third straight game. Cecil Gresham had 13 points and Peter Lambert came off the bench to add 10 points for the Bulldogs (1-8), who are in their first season of a four-year transition to Division I.
The team's traded baskets early on before Rutgers closed the first half with a 16-5 run to take a 33-20 lead at the break. Rosario had eight points during the run and Mike Coburn added five.
Rutgers remained in control in the second half as Bryant made just five baskets after the break. Overall, the Bulldogs made just 22.4 percent of their shots and committed 14 turnovers.
