CINCINNATI (AP) -Yancy Gates scored on a dunk with less than a second left in the game as Cincinnati rallied from a 15-point deficit to send the game into overtime, defeating E. Kentucky 85-77.
The Bearcats (9-2) outscored E. Kentucky 12-5 in overtime on Saturday after trailing for most of the game. Gates,
Beonte Vaughn was Cincinnati's leading scorer with 20 points, and Gates had 17 points.
The Colonels hit 11 3-pointers and maintained a steady lead until the game's final minutes, leading 36-32 at halftime.
Larry Davis had six points with two minutes left in regulation, giving Cincinnati its first lead since the game's early minutes. E. Kentucky's Mike Rose responded with four points in the last minute of regulation to elevate the Colonels to a 73-71 lead with 4.6 seconds to go.
Rose had a game-high 25 points for E. Kentucky (7-4).
