WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) -Alex Smith scored 16 points to lead four other William & Mary players in double figures in an 83-50 rout against Haverford on Saturday.

The game was close to start as the Tribe (4-6) held a 26-25 lead with 6:16 left in the first half. But William & Mary used a 14-2 run, sparked by Smith's seven points and Matt McFadden's five points during the spurt to give them a 13-point advantage at halftime.

Smith, who shot 6 of 6 from the field, made a layup with 13:32 remaining in the second half to give the Tribe a 53-33 lead. The Fords (3-3) followed with a score by Sam Permutt, but would not come no closer than 18 points the rest of the way.

Danny Summer scored 14 points, David Schneider had 11, and Peter Stein and Sean McCurdy each added 10 for the Tribe. McCurdy also finished with eight assists.

Ian Goldberg led Haverford with 13 points.
