MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -Da'Sean Butler scored a career-high 28 points to lead West Virginia to an easy 82-46 win over Miami (Ohio) Saturday.

The Mountaineers got hot early. They shot 58 percent in the first half en route to a 47-17 halftime lead to essentially end any hopes of a RedHawks upset.

Miami struggled mightily on offense in the first half, making just five shots and committing 15 turnovers, which resulted in 26 points for WVU. The RedHawks finished with 26 turnovers for the game.

West Virginia was just as dominant in the second half, building a lead as big as 41 points with 3:49.

Alex Ruoff added 15 points and eight assists for WVU while Darryl Bryant scored 16.

Michael Bramos led the RedHawks with 14 points.
