STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -Anthony Brown had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead Pacific to a 63-57 victory over Santa Clara on Saturday night at Spanos Center.
Brown scored inside and made two free throws during a decisive run that gave the Tigers a 52-43 lead with five minutes to play, and Pacific's lead never fell below four points the rest of the way.
James Doran also had 10 points for Pacific (6-3), which had six players score seven points or more.
John Bryant had game-high totals of 17 points and eight rebounds for Santa Clara (5-6). Decensae White had 10 points and eight boards for the Broncos.
Pacific held a comfortable edge throughout the second half while holding a 24-14 advantage in points in the paint and a 31-13 advantage in scoring off the bench.
The Tigers also had a 32-26 edge in rebounds and limited Santa Clara to 37 percent shooting from the field.
After Pacific built a six-point lead midway through the first half, Santa Clara answered with a 13-2 run to take its biggest lead at 18-13.
But the Tigers did that one point better by finishing the half with a 14-2 spurt. Bryan LeDuc beat the halftime buzzer with a 3-pointer to stretch Pacific's lead to 27-20 at the intermission.
Terrell Smith made a jumper to begin the second half, giving Pacific its biggest lead - a margin the Tigers would match four other times later in the half.
