MIAMI (AP) -Lester Hudson scored 23 points and Marquis Weddle added 21 to lead Tennessee-Martin past Florida International 77-76 in overtime in the opening game of the FIU Holiday Tournament.
Weddle hit two free throws with 9.5 seconds left in overtime to give Tennessee-Martin (5-5) its third consecutive victory.
FIU's Harley Fuller made a layup with 32 seconds left in overtime for a 76-75 lead, but missed two key free throws with 14 seconds remaining.
Michael Dominguez scored 21 points and Freddy Asprilla added 19 to lead the Golden Panthers (4-10), who have lost six straight.
Hudson, who entered the game ranked eighth nationally in scoring (23.8 points per game), did not score until 3:28 remained in the first half. His 21 points after halftime extended his 20-plus scoring streak to 12 games. Hudson was 7-for-21 from the floor and 9-for-9 from the line.
