SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) -Dwight O'Neil and freshman Bryce Cartwright scored 20 points apiece as Fresno State rallied to force overtime Monday night in a 90-87 victory over Cal Poly.
Freshman George Paul had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Sylvester Seay added 12 points and 10 boards for the Bulldogs (7-7), who trailed by 13 in the first half and 11 early in the second. They took their first lead of the game with 1:52 to play on a pair of free throws from O'Neil.
O'Neil later made a 3-pointer with 11 seconds to play to put Fresno up 76-73, but it was answered by a 3 from Cal Poly's Chaz Thomas with 1.8 seconds left to force overtime.
The Bulldogs took the lead for good on a layup from Paul with 2:41 to go in the extra period. They outscored Cal Poly (3-7) 14-11 in overtime.
Titus Shelton led the Mustangs with 21 points.
