MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -Andrew Hayles scored 24 points to lead Alabama State to a 74-59 victory over Alabama A&M on Monday night.
Hayles shot 9-for-16 from the field, including 5-for-9 from 3-point range. Roland Fitch added 15 points and Brandon Brooks scored 12 for the Hornets (3-7).
The Tigers (5-7) were paced by Lucas Hall, who scored 13 points in 18 minutes. Jason Swanson chipped in with 12 points.
The Hornets shot 55.8 percent from the field (29-for-52), inculding 40.9 percent from 3-point range (9-for-22).
West Alabama outrebounded Alabama State 29-21, but the Tigers committed 13 team turnovers.
