LOGAN, Utah (AP) -Gordon Watt scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Houston Baptist to a 69-59 win over Howard on Wednesday night.
Baron Sauls added 17 points and had two steals for the Huskies (1-14), who were playing in the third round of the four-team Duel in the Desert holiday tournament hosted by Utah State. Emanuel Willis and Andrew Puzyk scored 10 points apiece.
Houston Baptist trailed 33-32 at halftime but tied the game midway through the second half. The Huskies took the lead for good when Watt hit a 3-pointer to go ahead 57-54 with 3:53 remaining. The basket was followed by a 12-5 run to seal the win.
Paul Kirkpatrick scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Bison (1-11). Eugene Myatt added 11 points.
