CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) -Aamir McCleary hit a 3-pointer with 2 seconds remaining to give Southern Illinois-Edwardsville a 70-69 win over Southeast Missouri on Wednesday.
Edwardsville (4-11), down 69-67, got a steal with 25 seconds remaining. Nikola Bundalo missed two free throws with 8 seconds remaining, but the Cougars grabbed the rebound and McCleary hit the game-winning shot.
John Edmison led the Cougars with 19 points, and Mark Yelovich added 14. McCleary finished with nine.
Calvin Williams paced Southeast Missouri (3-10) with 22 points and nine rebounds. Kenard Moore had 19 points and Jaycen Herring added 13 for the Redhawks.
Down 32-29 at halftime, Edwardsville opened the second period with a 27-11 run to lead it 56-43. The Redhawks went on a 22-7 run to regain the lead at 65-63 with four minutes left in the game.
