MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -David DuBois had 19 points and ten rebounds for a double-double to lead Western Illinois past Southern Utah 61-53 on Wednesday.
David Nurse and Josh Rivers each had 11 points for Western Illinois (5-8, 2-0 Summit) to keep the Leathernecks undefeated in Summit League play. Quenton Kirby came off the bench to add ten points.
Davis Baker led Southern Utah (4-10, 2-1 Summit League) with 25 points, including three 3-pointers. Tyler Quinney had 12 points, including 8-8 free throws.
Western Illinois held a 31-26 lead going into halftime and continued to dominate in the second period, outscoring Southern Utah 30-27 after the break.
It was the first league defeat of the season for Southern Utah.
Southern Utah made five 3-pointers, compared with three for Western Illinois. The Leathernecks shot 12-16 free throws.
