LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) -P.J. Alawoya scored 32 points and John Pichon posted the second triple-double in McNeese State history as the Cowboys took an 84-75 win over Wiley College on Wednesday night.
Pichon had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists while Edmond Lawrence, who posted McNeese's only other triple-double in 1973, watched from the stands.
The Cowboys (6-7) snapped a four-game losing streak with the victory over the NAIA Division I Wildcats, who counted the game as an exhibition.
McNeese State took a 44-36 lead at halftime in the first meeting between the schools.
Alawoya hit 16 of 18 shots from the field and was 10-for-10 in the first half. He also grabbed 13 rebounds. Kleon Penn added 14 points and seven blocks for the Cowboys.
Darnell Adams led the Wildcats with 23 points, Rafael Johnson and LaMario Kersee had 11 apiece and Ronald Tolbert added 10.
