KENT, Ohio (AP) -Al Fisher scored 23 points and went 6-for-6 on free throws as Kent State pulled away in the second half to beat Bowling Green 72-48 on Wednesday night.
Anthony Simpson came off the bench to add 16 points for the Golden Flashes (8-8, 1-1 Mid-American Conference), Chris Singletary scored 11 and Tyree Evans had 10.
Chris Knight came off the bench for 15 points, the only Bowling Green player in double digits. Otis Polk chipped in with 10 rebounds for the Falcons (8-7, 1-1).
The game was tied at 33 at the break, but Fisher hit a 3-pointer to spark a 16-0 Kent State run that kept the Falcons scoreless for more than 8 minutes.
The Golden Flashes held Bowling Green to just 6-of-26 shooting from the field in the second half.
Kent State also had the advantage on free throws, hitting 16-of-17 for the game to Bowling Green's 6-of-13, and on 3-pointers, making 6-of-13 while the Falcons hit just 2-of-20.
