THIBODAUX, La. (AP) -Omar Johnson scored 17 points and Texas-San Antonio rallied to defeat Nicholls State 62-55 on Wednesday night.
The Roadrunners (10-4, 2-0 Southland Conference) won despite shooting only 33.3 percent from the field for the game (18 of 57). They made up for it by sinking 18 of 23 free-throw attempts, 15 of 18 in the second half.
The Colonels (8-7, 1-1) hit 44.7 percent from the floor (21 of 47) and 13-for-17 from the free-throw line, but were 0-for-10 from 3-point range.
Nicholls State took its biggest lead of the game at 43-35 with 9:18 left. Texas-San Antonio went on a 10-2 run to tie the score at 45 with 6:51 remaining and never trailed again.
Josh Bonney added 15 points for the Roadrunners, while Devin Gibson had 13 and Joey Shank chipped in 11.
Anatoly Bose paced the Colonels with 19 points and Ryan Bathie added 18.
