IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -Vince Oliver scored 24 points with a career-high 10 rebounds to lead visiting UC Davis to an 88-85 victory over UC Irvine on Saturday.
Joe Harden scored 16 points with six rebounds and Dominic Calegari added 10 points as the Aggies (8-10, 2-2) almost blew an 18-point lead with 11:10 left in the Big West Conference game at Bren Events Center.
Though Irvine (5-12, 3-2) outscored Davis, 42-27 in the final 11 minutes, Aggies guard Mark Payne made the second of two free throws with 5.3 seconds left to give Davis a three-point lead.
Irvine guard Patrick Rembert, a sophomore, scored a career-high 17 points with seven assists to lead the Anteaters.
