HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) -Charles Jenkins scored 23 points and Tony Dennison had all nine of his in the second half to lead Hofstra to a 57-52 victory over Northeastern on Saturday.
Senior forward Arminas Urbutis added eight points and nine rebounds for the Pride (11-7, 3-4 Colonial Athletic Association), who snapped a two-game losing streak.
Matt Janning had 14 points for the Huskies (11-6, 6-1) but he missed his last six shots from the field.
Manny Adako's layup put Northeastern ahead 51-50 with 1:47 left.
Jenkins made two free throws with 45 seconds to go to give the Pride a 52-51 lead. Dennison forced a turnover on the next possession, and Greg Johnson made two free throws to give Hofstra a three-point lead. After Janning and Dennison exchanged free throws, the Huskies missed two late shots and Jenkins added two more free throws.
