LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) -Benson Egemonye 20 points to lead Niagara past Rider 84-70 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play Saturday.
Tyrone Lewis and Bilal Benn each added 15 points for Niagara (14-5, 5-2). Benn also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Rob Garrison chipped in 13 points, while Anthony Nelson added 10.
Ryan Thompson led Rider (9-8, 4-3) with 20 points. Harris Mansell added 16 points while Mike Ringgold scored 12. Justin Robinson and Novar Gadson scored 10 apiece.
Niagara opened with a 6-0 run and never trailed for the rest of the first half, taking a 36-33 halftime lead.
Rider took a 42-38 lead at the start of the second half before Niagara went on a 19-2 run for a 57-44 lead on a 3-pointer by Demetrius Williamson at 10:37. Rider answered with a 20-9 run, cutting the lead to 66-64.
Garrison completed a four-point play at 2:28 to make it 75-66. Niagara made seven of its last eight foul shots for the final margin.
