STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -Antonio Hanson scored 17 points and Georgia Southern defeated Furman 69-53 on Saturday night, keeping the Paladins winless this season in Southern Conference play.
The Eagles (7-10, 5-4), who won their sixth straight game against Furman (2-15, 0-8), allowed a season-low 53 points for the second straight game. Georgia Southern beat Wofford 74-53 on Thursday.
The Paladins, who lost their seventh game in a row and 17th straight game against NCAA Division I competition, held an opponent below 50-percent shooting for the first time in six games. The Eagles shot 46.3 percent from the field (19 of 41).
The Paladins outrebounded the Eagles 30-27, but also committed more turnovers - 18 to 11.
Julian Allen added 13 points for Georgia Southern and Ben Drayton III had 12.
Bryson Barnes had 13 points for Furman and Jordan Miller added 12.
