SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) -Andrew Lyell's lay up with two seconds left edged Bryant University to a 57-55 win over Long Island University on Saturday.
Cecil Gresham added 18 points for the Bulldogs (4-16, Independent), while Adam Parzych had 12.
Julian Boyd had 16 points and two assists, while Jaytornah Wisseh added 14 points and two assists for LIU (9-10, 5-3 Northeast Conference).
Bryant snapped an 11-11 tie with a 23-6 run that gave the Bulldogs a 34-17 halftime advantage. Gresham connected on 6-of-9 from the field.
LIU cut down a 10-point deficit early in the second half to 52-50 following a free throw by Boyd with 1:35 remaining. The Blackbirds evened the game at 55-55 with 19 seconds left following Ron Manigault's free throw.
Lyell finished with seven points and five rebounds - and his only two in the second half proved to be the game winner.
