EL PASO, Texas (AP) -Jerome Jordan scored 21 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for Tulsa, which held on to beat Texas-El Paso 78-70 on Saturday night.
Ben Uzoh added 17 points and Justin Hurtt had 16 for the Golden Hurricane (13-7, 3-2 Conference USA). Jordan was 7 of 12 from the field and hit 7 of 11 free throws.
Stefon Jackson led UTEP with 26 points, including 11 of 17 from the free-throw line. Kareem Cooper scored 11 points.
Tulsa opened up a 34-27 lead in the first half, when UTEP was plagued with 23 percent shooting from the field. The Hurricane shot just 36 percent for the game.
The score was tied three times and featured eight lead changes.
