HOUSTON (AP) -A buzzer-beating layup by Kevin Sims led Tulane to a 61-59 victory over Tulane on Wednesday night.
Sims made the layup with one second remaining after Rice's Aleks Perka missed the back end of a one-and-one, leaving the game tied at 59 with six seconds remaining.
Sims scored 14 points for Tulane (9-10, 3-3 C-USA) and Robinson Louisme added 11. Kris Richard scored 17 points off the bench and grabbed six rebounds.
Perka led Rice (6-14, 1-5) with 15 points while Rodney Foster added 11.
The two teams tied each other five times in the game and changed leads twice, including the last-second shot.
