SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -Dior Lowhorn scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds Saturday night to secure San Francisco's first West Coast Conference victory of the season, 73-53 over visiting Loyola Marymount.

Lowhorn, the WCC's leading scorer at 20.1 points per game coming in, had a double-double by halftime with 11 points and 11 boards. Angelo Caloiaro added 11 points and six boards for USF (9-13, 1-6 WCC), which snapped a six-game losing streak and moved out of a last-place tie in the conference standings with LMU (1-22, 0-7).

Manny Quezada tied a pair of season-highs with six assists and five rebounds, and Blake Wallace tallied nine points.

Kevin Young led the Lions with 17 points, but at 7-for-12, he was the only LMU player to hit more than half of his attempts from the floor. Vernon Teel had 16 points and 10 boards, but missed 10-of-15 shots. No other Lion recorded more than two buckets.

The Lions shot 31.5 percent overall, 23.8 percent on 3-pointers, and their 53-point total was the lowest for any of Division I opponent of USF this season. They finished with only six assists against 19 turnovers.

The Dons trailed 11-2 after missing seven of their first eight shots, but USF held the Lions scoreless over the final 7:37 of the half to take control. The Dons scored 14 consecutive points heading into intermission as LMU's last 13 possessions ended in six turnovers and seven missed shots.

Lowhorn contributed eight points to a 15-3 USF run that opened the second half, and the Lions, who are down to eight scholarship players due to a variety of injuries, never threatened after that.

LMU is now 0-13 on the road this season and has lost 23 in a row away from home, a streak that dates to December 2007.
