PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -Reggie Holmes scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half, including his 1,000th career point, to lead Morgan State to an 87-52 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday.
Holmes' 3-pointer three minutes into the game gave him the scoring milestone. He finished with 1,014 career points, ranking him 20th on the school's all-time scoring list.
The Bears (11-10, 6-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) shot 61.4 percent from the field (35-for-57) and outrebounded the Hawks 35-28 and scored 30 points in the paint.
Morgan State scored 35 points off 22 Maryland-Eastern Shore turnovers.
Rodney Stokes added 16 points for Morgan State, while Marquis Kately scored 14.
Morgan led by as many as 38 points in the second half, taking a 79-41 lead with 6:40 left.
Neal Pitt led the Hawks (6-13, 2-5) with 10 points.
