MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -Freshman Jarrod Jones scored 13 points and blocked four shots to lead Ball State to a 51-44 victory over Ohio on Saturday.
The Cardinals (10-9, 5-2 Mid-American) led 27-20 at halftime, but the Bobcats (10-10, 3-4) rallied to a tie at 38 with under 7 minutes remaining in the second period. A layup by Laron Frazier then gave Ball State the lead for good, starting a 10-1 run that put the Cardinals in control.
A pair of free throws by Frazier gave Ball State a 48-39 lead with 2:33 remaining, and Ohio came no closer than five points the rest of the game.
Frazier finished with 11 points and Brandon Lampley added 10 for the Cardinals. Justin Orr led Ohio with 14 points, while Jerome Tillman and DeVaughn Washington added 10 each.
