BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -Travis Gabbidon tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer and Morris Smith scored 23 points in Texas-San Antonio's 67-66 victory against Lamar on Saturday night.
With under 10 seconds left, Smith missed a 3-pointer and Josh Bonney grabbed the rebound. After Bonney's short follow shot missed, Gabbidon tipped the ball in as the buzzer sounded.
Smith was 7-of-13 from 3-point range for the Roadrunners (13-6, 4-2 Southland). Omar Johnson had 17 points, seven assists and five steals.
Lamar (11-9, 2-5) went ahead 66-65 on Charlie Harper's layup with 29 seconds left. Kenny Dawkins led the Cardinals with 21 points and eight assists, but had eight turnovers. Ashton Hall scored 18.
