WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -Cecil Gresham scored 27 points and Adam Parzych added 21 off the bench as Bryant defeated Monmouth 83-71 Thursday night.
Monmouth (6-18) led through much of the first half until a jumper by Parzych tied the score at 32 with 1:50 to go. That ignited an 11-2 Bryant run to finish the half. Peter Lambert had six points during the run, and Parzych added a 3-pointer as the Bulldogs took a 41-34 halftime lead.
Bryant (6-17) extended the lead to nine on a jumper by Gresham to open the second half. Monmouth closed the gap to 43-39 with a 5-0 run. But the Hawks never got closer as Bryant answered with an 8-0 run that featured a pair of 3-pointers by Gresham.
Mike Myers Keitt led Monmouth with 23 points.
