COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Mike Rose scored 27 points and Eastern Kentucky defeated Tennessee Tech 80-73 on Thursday night.
Rose was one of four Colonels (14-9, 7-5 Ohio Valley Conference) to score in double figures as Jorge Camacho tallied 15 points, while Josh Taylor and Joshua Jones scored 12 each.
Tennessee Tech (11-11, 5-7) opened the game with a 14-8 lead, but Eastern Kentucky went on a 21-5 run to take a 29-19 advantage on a Rose 3-pointer.
The Colonels made nine 3-pointers in the first half and took a 43-32 lead into halftime for their seventh win in nine games and third straight.
Kevin Murphy led Tennessee Tech with 21 points, including going 6-for-9 from 3-point range.
Rose hit 75 percent of his 3-point attempts (6 of 8) to move into No. 8 all-time on the Ohio Valley Conference career 3-pointer list with 248.
