FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) -James Feldeine scored 12 points to lead a balanced Quinnipiac attack in a 66-64 Northeast Conference victory over Sacred Heart Thursday night.
Jeremy Baker added 11 points for Quinnipiac (10-12, 6-6), while James Johnson, Geffen and Jeremy Baker each chipped in 10.
Senior Joey Henley led all scorers with 21 points for Sacred Heart ((10-12, 7-5), which saw its four-game winning streak snapped. Corey Hassan added 20, along with a career-high 13 rebounds.
Feldeine hit a pair of clutch 3-pointers in the second half, including one at the 3:11 mark which put the Bobcats ahead for good at 56-53.
Sacred Heart came within 64-63 on a 30-foot bank shot from Hassan with under seven seconds left. Bryan Geffen hit a pair of free throws on the other end. Up three, Quinnipiac fouled Chauncey Hardy before Sacred Heart could attempt a 3-pointer.
