CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Jimmy Baron scored all of his 19 points in the second half, including the clinching bucket with 25 seconds left, to lead Rhode Island to a come-from-behind 71-64 win over Charlotte on Thursday night.
Baron recovered from a frustrating first half and Charlotte's box-and-one defense to help the Rams (16-7, 5-3 Atlantic 10 Conference) to their fourth straight win and continue their hopes for a postseason berth.
With Rhode Island clinging to a 66-64 lead, Baron worked off a screen, caught a pass in the lane and hit a leaner to seal the win.
Kahiem Seawright added 14 points and nine rebounds and Delroy James scored 10 for the Rams, who trailed by 11 points in the first half.
Lamont Mack scored 17 points, Charlie Coley added 13 and DiJuan Harris had 10 points and 10 assists for the 49ers (7-14, 1-6), who hit only 6 of 24 3-pointers.
