NEW YORK (AP) - Julian Boyd had 18 points to lead five Long Island University players in double figures and the Blackbirds beat Mount St. Mary's 76-70 on Thursday night.
Kyle Johnson added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Blackbirds (11-11, 7-4 Northeast Conference), while Jaytornah Wisseh had 15 points, David Hicks 13 and Lucas Faggam 10.
Sam Atupem had 14 points for the Mountaineers (13-10, 8-4), while Kelly Beidler added 13, Jean Cajou 12 and Jeremy Goode 11.
Will Holland hit a jumper with 11:11 to play to break the game's final tie and the Blackbirds led the rest of the way. The Mountaineers got as close as 58-56 on a jumper by Markus Mitchell with 6:49 to go.
