MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -Brandon Brooks scored 18 points and Chief Kickingstallionsims added 13 points and 11 blocks to lead Alabama State to a 65-59 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday night.
It's the first game this season in which the 7-foot center, who came into the game leading the Southwestern Athletic Conference in blocks with 51, notched double-digit blocks.
The Hornets won the blocked shot battle 14-2.
Andrew Hayles chipped in with 15 points for the Hornets (12-8, 9-1), who have won three games in a row and 10 of 11.
Terrance Calvin led the Golden Lions (7-14, 6-4) with 20 points, Tavaris Washington added 14 and George Davis had 10.
The Golden Lions had a rough shooting game, hitting just 1 of 13 3-point attempts and missing 10 of 20 free throws.
