LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) -Ryan Thompson's driving layup with 3.4 seconds left gave Rider a 90-88 win over Siena on Saturday.
The Broncs had rallied to take the lead in the closing minutes, but the Saints fought back and tied the game at 86-86 on Alex Franklin's 3-point play with 1:06 left.
Novar Gadson's layup on Rider's next possession put them ahead, but Siena responded with a basket by Ryan Rossiter with 37 seconds left. Rider then held the ball until Thompson's winning shot, and he then blocked Ronald Moore's 3-point try to seal the win.
Justin Robinson had 25 points for the Broncs (13-9, 8-4 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), while Gadson added 17 and Harris Mansell and Thompson both finished with 13. Kenny Hasbrouck had a game-high 27 points for Siena (18-6, 12-1) while Franklin had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Rossiter finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
