MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -Erik Kangas scored 23 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead Oakland to a 77-52 win over Western Illinois on Thursday night.
Johnathon Jones added 16 points and Dan Waterstradt had 10 for Oakland (17-11, 10-5 Summit), which jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never looked back. The spurt included three 3-pointers for Kangas, who finished 7-for-12 from behind the arc.
The Golden Grizzlies never trailed and led 37-20 at halftime. They have won four in a row.
Ceola Clark led Western Illinois (9-18, 6-10) with 24 points. Oakland held David DuBois, who averaged 18.9 points per league game, to 14 points.
The Leathernecks have lost four of the last six.
Oakland beat Western Illinois 86-46 when the teams met Jan. 24 in Rochester, Mich. Kangas had 27 points and seven 3-pointers in that game.
