EDINBURG, Texas (AP) -Olu Ashaolu scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on Saturday as Louisiana Tech cruised past Texas-Pan American 80-62 in the season opener for both teams.
Ashaolu went six of eight from the field and six of eight from the line to lead all scorers.
Kyle Gibson added 16 points for Louisiana Tech, DeAndre Brown had 13 and Magnum Rolle had 12.
Texas-Pan American was held to just under 43 percent shooting. Jared Maree and Luis Valera led the Broncs with 10 points each.
