HONOLULU (AP) -Will Figures scored 15 points to lead Northern Colorado to a 73-51 win over Southern Utah on Sunday at the Rainbow Classic.
Figures, who shot 6 of 9 from the field, had 13 points by halftime. Hauns Brereton and Elliott Lloyd, who also had three steals, added 10 points each for the Bears (2-0).
Northern Colorado was 19 of 27 from the free-throw line, while Southern Utah (0-2) was 9 of 17. The Thunderbirds shot 44.1 percent (15 of 34) from the field.
Northern Colorado used a 10-2 first-half run to surge to a 23-11 lead. It extended its lead to 40-22 at the half with an 11-0 run. Southern Utah committed 19 first-half turnovers and 26 for the game, which Northern Colorado turned into 28 points.
