EL PASO, Texas (AP) -Randy Culpepper scored 17 points to lead four UTEP players in double figures and the Miners defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 70-52 Wednesday night.
Culpepper's 3-pointer late in the first half gave UTEP (2-0) the lead for good at 34-31. The Miners led by double figures for most of the second half.
Christian Polk scored 15 points and Arnett Moultrie and Jeremy Williams added 12 each. Lebaron Weathers had 15 points and 13 rebounds for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-3). The Golden Lions shot 30 percent in the game.
UTEP scored 21 points off 13 Arkansas-Pine Bluff turnovers.
