SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -Sultan Toles-Bey had 17 points, four assists, and three steals to lead Sacramento State to a 90-75 victory over Bethany, Calif. Wednesday night.
John Dickson had 15 points and Mike Selling added 10 points for the Hornets (2-2), who matched their total wins from last season.
Jason Maples had 25 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Bruins (1-6).
Seven ties were recorded in the first half before the Hornets broke free to go ahead 42-35 on a basket by Toles-Bey with 2:39 left. The Hornets finished with an 8-3 run to take a 50-38 halftime lead.
Dani Lopez's basket at the 5:39 mark in the second half gave the Hornets a 83-56 lead and their biggest margin of the game.
