MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -Jarrod Jones scored 19 points and Jauwan Scaife added 12 as Ball State defeated SIU-Edwardsville 57-47 on Saturday.
Terrence Watson had eight points and eight rebounds for the Cardinals (2-0)
David Boarden had 14 points for SIU-Edwardsville (1-5). Mark Yelovich added nine points and 11 rebounds.
The game was tied 24-24 at halftime. Ball State built a cushion midway through the second half with help from Randy Davis, whose 3-point goal and three assists in a 3:18 span turned a one-point lead into a 42-33 advantage.
Davis finished with three points and five assists.
