PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) -Darnell Hugee scored 15 points and Prairie View held on to defeat Dallas Christian 74-69 on Sunday.
Prairie View built a 14-point lead with just under 14 minutes to play, but Dallas Christian cut the lead to 58-57 on a Dalon Parker 3-pointer just four minutes later. Hugee was called for a foul and a technical with 11 minutes to go, and Dallas Christian made five free throws to draw closer.
Michael Griffin scored 14 points and Michael Webb 11 plus eight rebounds for the Panthers (5-5). Christopher Jones scored all six of his points down the stretch as Prairie View maintained the lead. The Panthers shot 48 percent from the field in the game.
Christian Lawyer led the Crusaders with 26 points, while Parker finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. Dallas Christian plays in the NCCAA.
