HOUSTON (AP) -Travele Jones scored 24 points to lead four Texas Southern players in double figures in an 89-56 victory over Alcorn State Monday night.
Jones also had 11 rebounds and four steals for the Tigers (5-8, 1-0 Southwestern Athletic). Junior Treasure scored 17 points, and Deandre Hall and Jason West had 12 apiece. Texas Southern led 34-23 at halftime, then shot 60 percent from the field in the second half in building a 37-point lead.
Jonathan Boyd led Alcorn State (0-14, 0-1) with 15 points. The Braves have lost 18 straight games dating to last season.
