NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -Tyler Cain's 10th double-double of the season led South Dakota to a 68-58 victory over NJIT on Thursday night.
Cain posted game highs of 20 points and 13 rebounds to pace the Coyotes (16-9, 7-1 Great West Conference), who won their seventh in a row.
Mitchell Bouie added 14 points on 6-for-7 shooting, and Kendall Cutler had 10.
Jheryl Wilson scored 19 points for the Highlanders (8-17, 3-5). Chris Flores added 12 and P.J. Miller 11.
Cutler sank six free throws as part of a late 9-0 run to secure the win.
South Dakota had led by double digits most of the way, but the Highlanders crept within 54-49 with 3:18 left. That's when Cutler went 6-for-6 from the line.
