TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Mitchell Anderson and Savalace Townsend scored 19 points apiece to lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff to a 58-56 victory over Florida International on Monday night in a consolation round of the NIT Season Tip-Off.
Daniel Broughton added nine points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Golden Lions (1-2).
Jeremy Allen led all scorers with 21 points for the Panthers (1-2), and Phil Taylor added 13.
Trailing 55-54, Broughton hit a layup to put the Golden Lions ahead to stay 56-55 with 1:27 left.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff connected on 19 of 39 shots (49 percent) to 17 of 44 (39 percent) for FIU. The Golden Lions also held a 32-25 rebounding advantage.
