TROY, Ala. (AP) - Justin White scored 15 points and Troy defeated East Tennessee State 79-71 on Tuesday night to snap a three-game Buccaneers' winning streak.
The Trojans (3-3) hit 12 of 35 from long range, with Will Weathers hitting 4 of 6 3-pointers to finish with 14 points. Emil Jones also had 14 points as Troy avenged an 81-71 loss to ETSU 10 days earlier.
The Trojans led by as many as 10 in the first half and 35-28 at the break. The Buccaneers (3-2) closed the gap to four points on five occasions, but could get no closer.
Leading 49-45 with 8:36 left, Troy hit four 3-pointers - two apiece by White and Weathers - in a 21-10 run to pad its cushion to 15 with 2:33 to play.
ETSU was led by Sheldon Cooley with 20 points, Adam Sollazzo with 19 and Isiah Brown with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
