MACOMB, Ill. (AP) - Nate Wolters had 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, and South Dakota State survived a frantic final minute to beat Western Illinois 67-66 on Saturday.
Zach Horstman and Chad White came off the bench to score 12 points apiece for the Jackrabbits (6-3, 2-0 Summit). White's two free throws with 2 seconds left gave SDSU a 67-63 lead and proved to be the difference in the game, as Ceola Clark hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer for Western Illinois (3-3, 1-1).
Obi Emegano had 17 points to lead the Leathernecks, and Remy Roberts-Burnett added 16.
SDSU led 63-60 with 1:04 to play. Emegano and Clark missed potential game-tying shots before Jack Houpt missed a 3-pointer that would have given Western Illinois a 66-65 lead with 6 seconds left.
Clark got the offensive rebound but missed another game-tying layup, and White finally grabbed the rebound and was fouled.
