LAS VEGAS (AP) - Anthony Marshall scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half to lead UNLV to a 65-54 win over UTEP Wednesday night.
Justin Hawkins had 12 points, Carlos Lopez scored 11 and Mike Moser grabbed 11 rebounds for UNLV (10-2).
UTEP (2-5) was led by Michael Perez with 17 points. Gabriel McCulley had 15 points and seven rebounds and Julian Washburn scored 12 for the Miners.
The Rebels closed out the game with a 16-6 run over the final 5:06. Marshall, with two 3-point baskets, one jumper and a dunk, accounted for 10 points during the run. It started after the Miners had narrowed the lead to 49-48 on Perez's free throws with 5:18 left.
There were 14 lead changes in the game. UNLV led 24-21 at halftime.
