EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Gabriel McCulley and Cedrick Lang scored 12 points apiece, and UTEP never trailed Monday in a 69-54 victory over McNeese State.
McCulley was 5 of 7 from the field, and Lang was 4 of 5. John Bohannon added 10 points for the Miners (4-5).
Patrick Richard, coming off a 19-point, 11-rebound game in a loss to Louisiana Tech on Wednesday, led the Cowboys (4-6) with 12 points. Rudy Turner added 10.
The Miners led by eight at halftime and by just four, 32-28, early in the second half. But UTEP responded with a 20-5 run to make it 52-33 with 11:36 to play.
For the game, UTEP was 22 of 44 (50 percent) from the field and 20 for 25 (80 percent) from the free-throw line. McNeese State attempted only 15 free throws and made just six of them.
With the victory, UTEP moved to 3-0 all-time against McNeese State.
