CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) - Ramell Taylor scored 17 points to lead four Southern Utah players in double figures and the Thunderbirds outlasted UC Davis 61-52 Thursday night.
Matt Massey had 14 points, Damon Heuir scored 11 and Jackson Stevenett finished with 10 for Southern Utah (5-6), who never trailed in the game but never really had control until the last 3 minutes.
The Thunderbirds, who had lost their previous three games, made only one 3-pointer in the game, by Heuir, but went 23 for 28 from the free-throw line compared to 13 of 18 for UC Davis. Taylor also had a game-high seven rebounds.
Tyler Les led the Aggies (1-11) with 12 points. John Adenrele added 10 points for the Aggies, who have lost seven in a row.
